Work on the guest amenities upgrade will commence later this month.
The Guest Amenities will undergo a complete overhaul with demolition work commencing in May 2021. The building, which has survived multiple cyclones will remain. However, plans feature an all new, modern fit-out with new shower and toilet amenities.
The Campground will remain operational during this period and temporary amenities will be in place from early May 2021 for the entire duration of the project.
To help minimise impact to guests, all work will be conducted Monday - Friday during the day time. Local contractors have been engaged to complete all works.
Weather permitting, works are scheduled for completion in July.
The Cassowary Coast Regional Council will also commence making upgrades to the public amenities space in parallel to upgrades for the park's amenities. Council will retain maintenance responsibilities for the public amenities following the upgrade.
